iPad Setup

For Hardwired iPad :

Note

Use only the charging brick that comes with the iPad originally in order to use the ethernet cable

Hardwired-IPad
  • Connect the Camera adapter to the iPad
  • Connect Ethernet Adapter to the Camera Adapter

  • Connect the charging cable to the Camera Adapter
  • Go into Settings, turn off Wifi
  • Go to Ethernet adapter right below and check IP and note it down for troubleshooting if needed
  • Open the browser and go to Google or any website to check if you get internet

For Ipad That Use Wifi :

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Wifi
  3. Connect to the designated Wifi
  4. Click on the blue “i” icon to check IP address
  5. Note it down for troubleshooting if needed

Hardware Setup

Printer Models : Tm-m30, Tm-T88Vi, Tm-u220i

  • Hook up the power cable to the printer
  • Connect ethernet cable in the port on the back of the printer

Printer will print out a slip with IP address :

  1. Check if IP from printer is matching with IP from Hardwired Ipad
  2. If not matching, or showing 192.168.192.168 :
  1. Check if ethernet cable is coming from the same switch
  2. heck to see if you have internet

On iPad For Tm-m30 and Tm-T88Vi :​

  1. Open Safari or any browser
  2. Go to the ip you get from the printer (i.e. 10.1.10.187)
  3. Click show details
  4. Click Visit This Website
  5. Put in “epson” for both username and password field
  6. Look on the left, under Configuration
  7. Click TCP / IP
  8. Look for Acquiring the IP Address, set it to Manual
  9. In case you want to use a set of IP you can set it under IP Address
  10. Hit Send to save

For Tm-u220i :​

  1. Open Safari or any browser
  2. Go to the ip you get from the printer and add “/webconfig” by the end of it (i.e. 10.1.10.205/webconfig)
  3. Put in “epson” for both username and password field
  4. Look on the left, click on [System Settings]
  5. Under Wired. Click TCP / IP
  6. Look for Get IP Address, set it to Manual
  7. In case you want to use a set of IP you can set it under IP Address
  8. Hit Send to save

After connecting printer :

For receipt printers :

  1. Go into POS
  2. Try placing an order
  3. Hit print
  4. If printer prints out receipt everything is connected
  5. If printer does not print :
  1. Check if printer has internet by opening browser and go to printer’s IP
  2. Check if printing option is enabled inside Hardware -> printer (the box should be green for receipt printer)
  3. Check if iPad is having the same IP range as printer
  4. If everything is correctly set up try killing the app and restart

For kitchen printer :​

  1. Go into POS
  2. Try placing an order
  3. Hit Send
  4. If printer prints out tickets everything is correctly set up
  5. If printer does not print :
  1. Check if printer has internet by opening browser and go to printer’s IP
  2. Check if iPad is having the same IP range as printer
  3. Go into portal and check if the item being sent is assigned to the kitchen printer
  4. If everything is correctly set up try killing the app and restart

POS setup for printers ​

On POS, go to Dashboard on the left :

Click Hardware

Click Printers

Look for Scan Printers on top right

  1. Hit retry if nothing shows up

If nothing shows up still:

  1. Printer is not getting the internet
  2. iPad is on a different network with printer

If printer shows up:

  • If using printer for receipts, go back into printer added, turn on Enable Printing
  • If using printer for kitchen tickets nothing is needed
  • Try going out to POS, put in an order and print a receipt to see if it’s working. If printer is not printing anything go back to iPad and check Wifi.
  1. Click Add
  2. Put in Name, Group
  3. If Cash Drawer is attached to printer, turn on Enable Drawer
  1. For Tm-m30 and Tm-T88Vi :
  1. Printer Type : Thermal
  2. Printer Brand : Epson</li
  1. For Tm-u220i :
  1. Printer Type : Impact
  2. Printer Brand : Epson
